New Chair of CITB Wales Nation Council is appointed

CITB is pleased to announce the appointment of Martyn Osborne, Managing Director of Borne Consult Ltd, as the new Chair of its Wales Nation Council.

Martyn will serve a three-year term, bringing with him extensive industry experience and a deep understanding of the construction landscape in Wales.

As Chair, Martyn will work closely with Council members to support the CITB Board, providing valuable insight into the specific challenges facing the Welsh construction sector. His role will include acting as a key advisor and sounding board for CITB Trustees, ensuring that CITB’s strategic direction aligns with the needs of the industry across Wales.

Peter Lauener, Chair of CITB, said:

“Our Nation Councils provide a vital role in making sure that CITB priorities match what industry needs.

“Martyn Osborne brings a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of the construction industry in Wales to the role of Chair of our Wales Nation Council. I am delighted to welcome him to his new role and look forward to working closely with him.

“I should also like to place on record my gratitude to Leigh Hughes who chaired the Council from its inception in 2018 and now passes on the baton to Martyn.”

The appointment comes as CITB continues its work to build stronger, more responsive Nation Councils across the UK, supporting the development of a skilled and resilient construction workforce.
