This project will create 3 x fully interactive learning tools to address errors and defects in the following key areas; 

• Timber staircase installation
• Timber fire door assembly and door set installation
• Timber window installation.

The project will pilot the learning with BWF members and then be made widely available across industry.

The project will tackle skills shortages and increase the amount of training activity within Northamptonshire by providing the most common training programmes at a flat rate of £10 per course to employers. The project will take place in Northamptonshire only and will utilise collective buying power to achieve cost savings for participants of the scheme.

The project will develop targeted, innovative, quality-assured training that delivers standardised skills and knowledge for off-site manufacturing and assembly in construction.  It will use a range of blended learning solutions that draw from and build upon existing content.

Resources will be made freely available on the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) platform along with the skills diagnostic tool and trainer upskilling resources, underpinned by SCSS learner management systems. 

After the project MTC will achieve scalability of the developed materials through the networks within partners National Open College Network (NOCN) and Supply Chain School  NOCN will disseminate through its network of 600 providers, quality assure the materials and commit to maintaining them for at least two years after the project. Industry training materials on offsite will be freely available through the Supply Chain School website.

The project will identify and upskill onsite assessors in the small and medium-sized enterprise community. This will support the development of assessment infrastructure for the demolition, plant and plastering industries across Great Britain.

This project will increase the availability and quality of on-site assessment in the following areas:

• Passive Fire Protection
• Interior Systems, including: Dry Lining Boarding/Fixing/Finishing, Ceiling Fixing, Modular Demountable Partitioning

This project will allow assessors to train and develop in the areas of lifting operations, construction plant and demolition plant.
King Lifting will lead the project to train industry experts to become Vocational Qualification assessors or quality assurers, as well as CPCS testers. This is to create greater access to training/testing and assessment for the lifting, construction plant and demolition plant sectors.

DMR Training & Consultancy Limited (DMR) is proposing to extend its current NVQ qualification assessment service to employers in the finishing and interiors and plant operations sectors, by increasing its capacity and training and assessment service throughout Great Britain. DMR is proposing to support employers in the 2 sectors to address their skills gaps. This will result in the recruitment of new assessors and Internal Quality Assurance staff (IQA’s), the re-deployment of existing assessors and an investment in the skills, qualifications and professional development of new and existing assessors. DMR will offer employers the opportunity for new and existing employees to undertake nationally recognised NVQ qualifications as part of employee development and upskilling arrangements with directed training support made available, as required.

Seymour Civil Engineering Contractors Limited are currently establishing a Civils Training Academy where General Construction Apprenticeships and Study programmes will be delivered in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education.

The Academy will also provide NPORS (the National Plant Operations Registration Scheme) accredited training in Plant operations alongside Health and Safety qualifications by its own qualified and dedicated trainers.

They aim to provide NVQs in Plant operations as well as to increase the number of skilled operatives in the North East and Yorkshire regions.

They want to upskill Seymour CEC Operatives to become assessors and increase availability of on-site assessments. They will support other employers by extending this service to small, medium and large employers.

The Building Blocks project sits under the Structured Fund, Experiential Learning opportunity. It will deliver a sustainable experiential learning offer for Scotland, which will enable more universities to access the Constructionarium offer.

It will provide an expanded experiential learning offer for Scotland, which includes a static and mobile constructionarium, and will reach a wider range of beneficiaries. It will also provide an increase in the number of school teachers delivering Concrete in the Classroom to help feed into the talent pipeline for the sector.
