Project summary:

Small employers often lack the skills to deliver corporate social responsibility, and so can miss the benefits to themselves and the community, including winning new contracts.

The project will develop and deliver an online diagnostic tool that identifies an organisation’s maturity in terms of corporate social responsibility.

This will help to develop participating employers’ skills and capacity in this area.

Project summary:

This programme will work with SME Tier 1 contractors to identify ten construction projects which will be delivered incorporating BIM technologies and processes across the supply chain.

It will develop and deliver a baseline maturity assessment for collaborative working and BIM, identify the skills and training required to deliver a live BIM project; creating the technical and cultural environment to develop, implement and manage a common data environment on the projects, incorporate BIM and Lean principles to ensure effective and efficient project delivery.

After the project, a skills diagnostic will be available for construction employers to discover the BIM maturity of their organisation. The tool will go on to signpost to training, based on Government BIM standards, to address gaps. A leadership programme will be available to undertake BIM transformation in construction businesses. Additional support will be available in best practice documentation. These materials will have been tested through the supply chains of 10 Tier 1 contractors.

Project summary:

The Infrastructure 21 project is a cross-industry collaboration that focuses on ensuring that the UK’s infrastructure supply chain has the competence and capacity to deliver a 50% increase in output in the next five years. It will develop and deliver upskilling for supply chain firms, targeted directly at those areas identified by industry as priorities through an extensive industry survey.

Project summary:

The project will provide demand-led OSAT training for the finishes and interiors sector. This project will address the growing need for NVQs in the sector. It will engage 100 companies in the process, ensuring the inclusion of 25% disengaged employers who have not availed of CITB funding or grants in past 3 years. The delivery model for this project will assist in alleviating key skills issues for the sector and will provide a foundation for further funding which will have additional impact on the company/ individual.

The project will work specifically with SMEs with less than 200 PAYE employees to:

  • Promote the introduction of a new level 2 vocational qualification for Formwork Erector/Striker
  • Upskill operatives to achieve currently available level 2 qualifications relevant to the RC Frame Sector
  • Create a skills and competence pathway model to demonstrate how an individual can become trade qualified through an apprenticeship.

Project summary:

This project aims to provide a set of resources and develop industry-HE partnership initiatives as a response to the CITB’s call for commissioned employer-HE collaboration.

The project will provide contextualised learning through immersive and experiential learning opportunities to improve accessibility to practical learning.

A sustainable HEI-employer network will be established in two regions (Wales and Yorkshire) to establish best practice in collaborative partnerships, which will be a model for UK-wide scalability.

A set of physical and virtual resources will be developed that will specifically address three principal target groups:

  • Level 3 school/college leavers
  • Existing employees
  • Graduates/Higher Diplomates from non-cognate disciplines.

Project summary:

The project will develop a web-based content creation platform and community space that allows users to generate their own learning experiences for virtual and augmented reality.  

The system will use a simple drag and drop interface and will include a learner management system that will allow learning experiences to be tracked, monitored and quality assured.

The platform will host VR content developed by HAE from other projects.  Content will be accessible in 3D via a computer screen and in PDF. The platform will be hosted by HAE, will be available to use by industry and funded by means of a low-cost pricing model.

After the project, industry will have access to a platform which allows for anyone to create VR and AR learning experiences in a simple and intuitive way.
