• Passive Fire Protection
• Interior Systems, including: Dry Lining Boarding/Fixing/Finishing, Ceiling Fixing, Modular Demountable Partitioning

This solution engages companies and the workforce in the finishes and interiors sector, by providing On-site Assessment and Training (OSAT) NVQs and identifying individuals as assessors working in conjunction with our training providers. This will be done by funding for 250 OSAT NVQs and 50 assessor qualifications.

This project is focused on training new assessors in Passive Fire and Finishes and Interiors

DMR Training & Consultancy Limited (DMR) is proposing to extend its current NVQ qualification assessment service to employers in the finishing and interiors and plant operations sectors, by increasing its capacity and training and assessment service throughout Great Britain. DMR is proposing to support employers in the 2 sectors to address their skills gaps. This will result in the recruitment of new assessors and Internal Quality Assurance staff (IQA’s), the re-deployment of existing assessors and an investment in the skills, qualifications and professional development of new and existing assessors. DMR will offer employers the opportunity for new and existing employees to undertake nationally recognised NVQ qualifications as part of employee development and upskilling arrangements with directed training support made available, as required.

Simian are committed to extending its current scaffold training delivery, by increasing capacity and the number of courses it offers throughout Great Britain.

Seymour Civil Engineering Contractors Limited are currently establishing a Civils Training Academy where General Construction Apprenticeships and Study programmes will be delivered in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education.

The Academy will also provide NPORS (the National Plant Operations Registration Scheme) accredited training in Plant operations alongside Health and Safety qualifications by its own qualified and dedicated trainers.

They aim to provide NVQs in Plant operations as well as to increase the number of skilled operatives in the North East and Yorkshire regions.

They want to upskill Seymour CEC Operatives to become assessors and increase availability of on-site assessments. They will support other employers by extending this service to small, medium and large employers.

This project is the development of a training and accreditation scheme for ecological clerks of works on construction sites (Site Ecologists). Clients, contractors and the ecology profession will work collaboratively to agree the required competencies and set standards. A comprehensive training and assessment programme leading to accredited status will enable a sustainable supply of confident and well-trained ecological clerks of works able to meet the increasing supply needs of the construction industry.

This project is focussed on mentoring in order to support the retention of new entrants.

The project will:

• Provide 100 new entrants with a mentor
• Train 100 Level 3 apprentices as mentors
• Train 100 industry representatives as mentors
• Produce two best practice guidebooks - one for mentors and one for mentees
• Produce a video case study.

Developed in partnership with key contractors, who are all SMEs, the Breakfast Club will deliver eight bespoke interactive training and personal development sessions for 48 new industry entrants (4 cohorts of 12) over a 15-month period. 

Running concurrently as a controlled programme alongside the regular intake of new employees, the project will deliver evidence-based comparisons as to the benefit of the bespoke additional interventions for the retention of new entrants.
