How to become an Approved Training Organisation
Applying to become a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) is straightforward. We have provided step by step instructions to help you complete your application successfully.
Types of training products
There are three types of training products that an ATO can apply to offer. They are defined as follows:
- Assured products
These are training products that meet the CITB short duration training standards - CITB products
This refers to CITB products such as Site Safety Plus (SSP). - Recognised products
These are training courses and qualifications that are provided by an awarding organisation, such as City & Guilds or NOCN. These products are on CITB's list of recognised qualifications and short courses.
Application pathways
There are three application pathways: one for existing CITB centres, one if you are joining CITB as a training provider for the first time, and one if you are an employer who has an in-house training department.
